Volunteer Services Coordinator

SUMMARY

This position works under and reports to the Director of Operations. The position is responsible for volunteer services and route deliveries for the program. This is a part-time position from 9:00am-1:00pm Monday through Friday with 2 weeks paid vacation and 1 week paid sick leave.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Notifies/reminds volunteers of up-coming delivery dates
• Finds substitute volunteers
• Delivers meal routes when last minute volunteer changes occur
• Prepares route equipment for daily delivery
• Verifies initial meal temperature upon delivery
• Maintains all records for consumer contributions
• Tracks and prepares monthly statements for consumer contributions
• Recruits new volunteers for route delivery openings
• Coordinates new volunteers, including screening and placement
• Contacts church coordinators regarding delivery changes and holiday schedule
• Helps clean and store route equipment

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including but not limited to the following:

• Helps verify and prepare shelf stable meal boxes when needed
• Helps pack and verify meals into hot meal holding cabinet as needed
• Helps pack thermal route bags as needed
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

This individual must have excellent people and communication skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet experience is needed. Also, general knowledge of office procedures and attention to detail is important. This individual must be able to relate positively to other staff members and volunteers including business and nonprofit community leaders and individuals. An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred, but experience may be substituted for education. This individual must also be able to lift coolers and help load them into volunteers’ vehicles, and should be able to lift boxes of donations and other items up to 20 lbs.
